Helium does not disappear after a leak test is completed. A large proportion of the gas remains inside the testing chamber, pipelines and connected fixtures. If it is vented after every cycle, fresh helium has to be supplied continuously to keep production running. Over time, this becomes one of the highest operating costs in helium leak testing.
The HJ-HS-4 Helium Recovery Machine is installed between the leak testing equipment and the helium supply system to recover the remaining gas before it is released. Instead of treating helium as a single-use consumable, the machine returns it to the production process after purification and concentration adjustment. The recovered helium is compressed, stored and supplied back to the leak testing station when the required operating conditions are reached.
Rather than changing the leak testing method itself, the recovery system changes how helium flows through the production line. It works alongside existing helium leak testing equipment and becomes part of the gas circulation process without affecting the testing sequence.
Developed by HeJin, the HJ-HS-4 is suitable for production environments where helium leak testing is performed continuously throughout the day. Whether the application involves heat exchangers, refrigeration components, automotive parts or sealed industrial products, the system helps manufacturers recover reusable helium while maintaining stable production.
Every leak test ends with helium remaining inside the test circuit. Although the quantity varies according to product size and testing procedure, releasing the remaining gas means purchasing the same amount again before the next production cycle.
Recovering helium changes this process.
Instead of exhausting the gas, the recovery machine transfers it into an enclosed circulation system. Once collected, the helium is cleaned, compressed and stored until it reaches the operating conditions required by the leak testing equipment. Fresh helium is only added when the monitored concentration falls below the preset value.
This approach allows recovered helium to participate in multiple testing cycles instead of being used only once.
The recovery machine is normally installed between the helium leak testing station and the helium storage source.
During operation, the leak testing equipment continues working in exactly the same way as before. The difference begins after each test cycle.
Residual helium is automatically directed into the recovery pipeline instead of being discharged. The recovery machine then completes the remaining processes independently before returning qualified helium to the production line.
Because the recovery sequence runs automatically, production operators do not need to interrupt testing or manually transfer gas between different storage tanks.
Recovering helium is only useful if the recycled gas remains suitable for leak testing.
The HJ-HS-4 monitors both gas concentration and operating pressure throughout the recovery process.
When helium concentration decreases, fresh helium is added automatically.
When operating pressure changes, the control system adjusts the recovery sequence to maintain stable gas delivery.
By controlling these operating conditions continuously, the machine supplies recycled helium that remains suitable for repeated leak testing applications.

Production equipment is expected to operate continuously, often across multiple shifts, without interrupting the manufacturing schedule. The recovery system has therefore been designed with stable operation and straightforward maintenance in mind.
The machine performs helium collection, purification, concentration monitoring and gas replenishment automatically after each leak test. Operators only need to monitor the operating status through the touch-screen interface, while the recovery sequence runs according to preset parameters.
The modular layout also simplifies routine maintenance. Filters, valves and major functional units are arranged for convenient inspection and replacement, helping reduce maintenance time during scheduled servicing.
HeJin specializes in the design and manufacture of automatic leak testing equipment for industrial production.
The company's product range includes helium leak testing machines, helium recovery systems, refrigerant charging equipment, vacuum systems and customized automation solutions used in automotive, refrigeration, heat exchange and thermal management manufacturing.
From mechanical design and electrical integration to software development and equipment assembly, every project is completed by HeJin's engineering and manufacturing team. This enables customers to obtain equipment that matches their production requirements instead of adapting their production process to standard machines.
